Older, Faster, Prettier -- The Old Fore River Bridge

Now that the old Fore River Bridge is gone and the new one is diligently working to make bigger traffic lines than ever. Perhaps some humor can help us endure those long waiting periods while the huge chains crank up the bridge roadway. In the interest of full disclosure, you should know the earliest plaything I remember was a model of the Fore River Bridge! And, more importantly, my father, Bernard McCourt, was one of the bridge operators for four decades! From bridge operators, sea captains and crews, there is more than a bit of salt in these veins!
